 Over 170 of Britain’s business leaders have urged the Government to inject growth into the British economy by progressing Heathrow’s expansion plans.

In the first ever poll of their views of airport expansion, and as the UK prepares for Brexit, 74% of Tory Party members now support a third runway at Heathrow.   Expanding Heathrow is now a choice for the next Conservative Party leader and the views of the party membership will influence the airport expansion debate.

Responding to the Transport Secretary’s announcement to hand over a decision on Heathrow expansion to his successor, John Holland-Kaye, the airport’s Chief Executive, said that a third runway must be a part of the Government’s Brexit plan.

SME involvement in Heathrow’s supply chain is thriving, driven by massive increases in contracts awarded to them over the past three years. Today, almost half of Heathrow’s Tier 1 suppliers are SME’s compared to just over a third three years ago.

Spelthorne and Slough Borough Councils Back Heathrow in letter to The Times

logo-SPELspotA2The Leaders of Spelthorne and Slough Borough Council’s have written a letter to The Times to express their support for a third runway at Heathrow.

The joint letter, from Councillor Ian Harvey, Leader of Spelthorne Borough Council and Councillor Rob Anderson, Leader of Slough Borough Council, is in response to reports that some council are preparing to sure over an extra Heathrow runway, and aim to show that no all councils local to the airport oppose its expansion.

Green Light for Heathrow, Green Light for Green Spaces- Heathrow to invest £105m in local communities with expansion go ahead

Heathrow Green Spaces CGI 2Heathrow Airport have announced a £105m investment plan that would see new and enhanced green spaces for local communities 4 times the size of Hyde Park- but only if the airport expansion is given the green light.

Images unveiled today show how the communities around Heathrow could benefit from a £105m investment in green spaces, including transformational improvements to *Colne Valley Regional Park that would reduce flood risk, protect biodiversity and create public places for people to enjoy.
